OMG.

So Friday was the best night I've had in some time. Quite possibly since I moved to Boston. Thanks to the folks at Yelp I was able to attend "Off Like a Prom Dress". An 80s/90s prom. I went as Sonny Crockett, roomie as Pat Benetar meets Bea Arthur. Fantastic. Pics can be seen here: Off Like a Prom Dress. The party was so good it took a day and a half to recover. THAT good. If you haven't discovered Yelp yet you should. I love this damn site and spend a large amount of time there. Anywho, without it I couldn't have become a drunken fool in a linen suit. I mean I guess I could have but it might have been weird. What an amazing time.

Wow! You are truly a student of the Bible! Some of the questions were difficult, but they didn't slow you down! You know the books, the characters, the events . . . Very impressive!

Yes, I am very much alive. I am however ill. Thus, I have time to update :)

Here's the lowdown:

Quit smoking. Been two months now, and all is well.

Changed my diet. Now longer eat things I can not pronounce and feel a lot better.

Started running. Feels great and my body seems to really like it.

Now unfortunately I have a sinus infection and feel horrid so I am trolling the Internet for entertainment. Though I am late to the party I'm enjoying Twitter. Join me: www.twitter.com/SuperUber7 it's really an interesting site. I like the constant status updates feel of it.

Off to read what everyone else has been up to...

One thing you can count on out here is that the people get cocky when their teams are doing well. Guess that didn't pay off this time.

They discounted the Giants as no threat and here we are. One bonus is now I don't have to hear about the Brady "dynasty" and how amazing they are, blah blah. 18-1, doesn't matter, doesn't count, the season was all for nothing. Suck on that.

Drawback being...I now have to hear about how we were 'robbed', and various theories on what went wrong. Bottom line, NE couldn't keep up with NY and they lost. Ta da! There's your historical moment. Now all eyes turn to the Celtics. Can they do anything cause lord knows the Bruins can't.

Wow, this shit's boring.

Update:
Halftime: Boring

Update:
End of third quarter: OH!! Still boring.

Update:
Oh, snap! Giants are in the lead. Suck on that.

Update:
Fourth quarter: Pats back in the lead. That was five minutes of exciting.

Update:
35 Seconds left: NY takes the lead. WOW. They're playing the final countdown...that can't feel good for Brady.

Ok, so wow...that last little bit was exciting. Sucks to be Brady.

Convenience

Saturday morning.

Wake up, roll back over and decide not to get up, eventually deciding that maybe a little TV will ease the transition in to waking life. Sadly this was derailed by this item:

What the fuck?

Fruity, crunchy tubes for milk-sippin' fun!

GROSS

Now, let me say that I love love love the wafer tub cookies but for some reason this product makes me nauseous. Are we as a society so lazy we can't bring ourselves to eat a bowl of cereal? Is life moving so fast that the time required to consume a convenience food is so great we need something even more convenient? When does convenience become too convenient?

The holiday was great. I had a few friends come in from out of town to spend some time with me. I'm quite lucky like that. We drank, we ate, we ate, and then we ate.

I do believe I've gained 10 lbs this holiday.

Sadly, I'm back at work today. Conveniently our system is down so I can't log in and work. Woo hoo!! I am drugged up to combat the stuffy sinus, congested chest, runny nose, hotness that I've got going on now and seriously if I had more vacation time I would bail out right now. Unfortunately I do not so here I am. Blah.

Hope everyone had a great holiday :)

Well, this is depressing

MONTEVIDEO (Reuters) - Uruguay's Congress legalized civil unions for homosexual couples on Tuesday in the first nationwide law of its kind in Latin America.

Under the new law, gay and straight couples will be eligible to form civil unions after living together for five years. They will have rights similar to those granted to married couples on such matters as inheritance, pensions and child custody.

Uruguay's Senate passed the bill unanimously after the lower house approved it last month, a congressional spokesman said. The country's center-left president is expected to sign it into law.

Several cities, including Buenos Aires and Mexico City, already have gay civil union laws on the books. Uruguay's law would be the first nationwide measure in Latin America, which is home to about half the world's Roman Catholics.

In Uruguay, couples must register their relationship with authorities to gain the cohabitation rights, and they will also be able to formalize the end of a union.

Gay marriage remains illegal in Uruguay, a small South American country known for its secular streak.

The Catholic Church has said its opposition to gay marriage is non-negotiable and Catholic politicians have a moral duty to oppose it.

Earlier this year in Colombia, a group of senators shot down a landmark gay rights bill at the last minute, using a procedural vote to back away from the measure.

My friend and roommate Lauren is moving back to Colorado tomorrow. I am a wreck. She's been a rock through the move out here and we've grown to depend on one another throughout our year together. Melly and I went out and bought her some trinkets and snacks for the drive home and I about lost it at the store. Luckily I was able to save that for packaging the gifts.

She's not doing so well herself which sucks. At least if she were more excited to go home I could get on board with that...but alas. So instead she's not pleased, I'm a mess and the next few days are going to blow.

Boo.

I've come for your gourd.

Yesterday we went to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Awesome. It's super quaint and remarkably fun.

The train ride out there was relatively fast and uneventful. I never realized that trains stop so much. It's really not that convenient for how long it takes to get around and how much it costs. Handily though this train drops you off right at the beach. There's also an amusement park right on the beach so you can either relax or ride the old school rides. We did a little of both. Took in some sun, then rode "The Pirate" which is called "The Sea Dragon" back home. After that we had some fried dough...which I don't completely understand but it was OK. We rode a few more rides including the rickety ferris wheel which allowed for some great views but was mildly terrifying.
Sadly the people who work at the amusement park were all unhappy bitches but I guess not everything could be perfect. Over all great time though. Highly recommended...for next year though since everything is closing now...

Yes, I haven't updated in ages. Blah blah.

So...today I am updating because I need to vent...

Last night this new gay at work asked if I could look in to an order for him. I explained that the order was missed and would be shipping early next week. Not 20 minutes later he tried to go around me and talk to a supervisor who happened to be sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME. He asked if there was any way to hurry her order along and get it to her sooner. The response was no. SO. This morning I came in and there was a note about the order in my in-box. I pulled it up and the bitch had given my name to the customer so that she could write in and complain about me. Seriously. I flipped out. I might have called him several colorful names and stormed out of our office. After walking for a bit and calming down I went and told my supervisor that I, the person who does not have contact with the customers, was going to be getting a complaint from one of them with my name attached. Awesome. After venting a bit I decided that my original plan of beating him upside hi big gay head was not the best idea. So I played his game and ratted him out to the boss that will get the complaint.

Sometimes I hate people...and by sometimes I mean most of the time.

In other news I've learned drinking kind of makes me a whore.
